At Bird’s Nest, we believe the experiences of early learners are sacred, and we honor this knowing that children only get one childhood. Developmentally appropriate learning is woven into every aspect of our day, and our center is intentionally designed to provide a nurturing, play-based, emergent, and literacy-rich environment for children ages 2–5. We provide a joyful, growth-focused preschool and childcare program where children are encouraged to thrive. Our mission is clear and purposeful: to nurture every child’s mind, body, spirit, and sense of wonder.
Bird’s Nest was born out of a desire to offer families more—a program that provides both high-quality education and full-day care options. We provide intentionally designed programming that blends the charm and warmth of a small-town program with top-tier learning.
Our emergent, child-centered curriculum is guided by the Illinois Early Learning Standards and shaped by the natural interests of the children. Each day is filled with opportunities to explore literacy, math, science, art, and music in meaningful ways. Social-emotional learning and spiritual growth are woven throughout, helping children build confidence, resilience, and compassion. With a focus on routines rather than rigid schedules, children are given the time and space to engage deeply, discover joy in learning, and grow with confidence.
